What Is Tithing and Do I Must Do It?
Does the New Testomony train tithing?
“The Lord had sworn and will not relent, You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek” (Psalm 110:four NKJ).
The author of Hebrews quotes this passage from the psalmist in Hebrews 7:17-21. And additional states:
“For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled… who does not need daily as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself… but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever.”
Jesus Christ is the perfected Son—our Excessive Priest. He saved us from the penalty of sin. Acts four tells us concerning the giving habits of the early New Testomony church. They offered all they’d and laid it on the toes of the apostles to distribute as everybody had want.
God doesn’t ask you to promote all the pieces. However Jesus left us with one command, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you…” (Matthew 28:19-20 NAS).
Going, telling, baptizing, and instructing takes cash—cash God supplies by supplying you with and me the skills and talents to earn cash to take care of our households and His church.
